They then set those axes to -100 instead of 0 as they were previously. They moved the triggers from essentially being on the same axis to separate axes. This is an issue with how the Xbox One drivers on Windows 10 work. Reddit Post for another program having issues follows: You can get the original official windows 10 driver (Xbox Controller) to work by going into the game settings clearing the controls for gamepads and remapping them. You will only see these if you installed the Xbox One Driver on Windows 7/8 and then updated to Windows 10.Ĭhanging to this driver will give problems in other games meaning you will be switching between the drivers all the time. I selected xbox one controller and this seems to have done the trick. My PC had 4 listed in the compatible hardware I right clicked on this and clicked update Driver Software, then browse for driver and then pick from a list. On my PC the controller listed was listed as Xbox Controller With the controller plugged in go to your device manager.Īt the bottom the is a Xbox Peripherals container. I have managed to resolve the issue for me on my computer. it is like a button is being perminatly pushed. My Xbox One controller is having a problem with this game. Xbox One Controller not working properly after Windows 10 Upgrade FIXED There is no part of the problem here that doesn't not exist solely inside the game. This is where the problem lives, either the deadzone Namco programmed in here is far to small or they didn't bother to make one at all. Or when you move the analog stick, and how far you have to move that stick to make an action register (known as a deadzone). You hook into the API to make that button press actually do something in your game. If you want your program to use an Xbox 360 controller, you hook into the XInput API. In the case of an Xbox 360 controller, the API it normally uses is called XInput. Next we've got what's called an API, it's the middleman between your computer's OS and the game you're playing. The driver is what translates that electrial impulse into something the computer's OS can understand. For example, you press a button on your controller, an electrical impuse goes down the wire to your computer. That is not what has been said so far in this thread when people have been talking about drivers.Ī driver's job is to pass physical information to your operating system so it can use it somewhere else. Namco is at fault for their low effort programming. You're still making it sound like the driver is at fault. So then as you said it's a driver bad incorporation and that is what all people is saying The Elite also might have a smaller hardware dead-zone than the other controllers, making it more susceptable to drift in games that don't have a proper dead-zone setup in the software. Originally posted by Lorben:It could be that the Elite's joystick isn't as firm as a 360's to start with. If I was getting drift both on my Xbox 360 and my PC then it would just be a case of worn out hardware. I also don't get drift when using them on my actual Xbox 360 in games like the Midway Arcade Origins. I don't get the same issue in other modern games like Rocket Leauge or other retro games like the SEGA Genesis Classics series. I get the same issue in Arcade Game Series:Dig-Dug as I do in Galaga. However I don't get drift on any other game except the other Namco Arcade Game Series games. If it was the driver and not the game I would expect issues to show up in other games as well. It's definitely not the driver for the 360 controller. The Elite also might have a smaller hardware dead-zone than the other controllers, making it more susceptable to drift in games that don't have a proper dead-zone setup in the software.Īlthough the Xbox One and the Xbox 360 controllers don't use the same driver so it could be the driver for the Elite, I don't have a way to test that since I don' t have an Xbox One controller to do testing on. It could be that the Elite's joystick isn't as firm as a 360's to start with.
